Almora, a picturesque hill station at an altitude of 1650 meters, was the capital of the Chand Rajas of Kumaon some 400 years ago. Almora perched on a 3 km long saddle shaped ridge, is called Kashaya Parvat and is situated in the middle of the Kosi & Suyal rivers. Almora offers the visitor a healthy selection of treks which combine the pleasures of sightseeing with the sprit of adventure. Interesting tourist places include, the Nanda Devi Temple, Kesar Devi Temple, Pant Museum.
